Hi, my name is James Illingworth and I am an aspiring game designer fresh out of University and ready to hit the world. I bring many different skills to the table, but my main area of expertise includes environmental design, asset creation, and lighting. I have a good eye for design, and I don’t stop until something looks good. I am a creative individual, who, when presented with a problem, will come up with the best solutions that are both well thought out and creative. I am very committed with what I do and will try my best to overcome situations that may be difficult to complete. I display great commitment and dedication in all goals and tasks set to help me achieve the best that I can and help me learn new skills or techniques. A big inspiration to me is Ubisoft, and their game series such as the new Assassins Creed, as well as the Tom Clancy games. The environmental designs, and the level of detail is mind blowing. They make them games look so real and I hope to be at that level one day; but obviously this will take time and a lot of hard work. Another inspiration of mine is Gearbox, especially their Borderlands game series. This is one of my most favourite game series, not only because of how fun they are, but the design and art style is so unique and looks amazing. During both 2nd and 3rd year at University I was chosen to be a team leader in our group projects by the external markers. I was chosen as I seemed to be one of the most hardworking students in the class and were getting some of the highest grades. I enjoyed being head of the team as you can bring everyone’s different skills together and produce some really good work. It was hard at first, but I rose to the challenge out in front of me.
