This piece is a duet between a female and male attached to rope. When thinking about this piece I wanted to relate back to my own initial life experiences. It’s a narrative about a couple in a toxic relationship that they feel they can’t get out of and almost a part of them doesn’t really want to. I wanted to show the power struggle but also the feeling of “I hate you, but I love you”.

Sometimes in life even when we know something is not right for us and unhealthy, we still can’t leave it alone. It’s almost that tempting aspect of being constantly pulled back and drawn to one another. So the rope is to show that intensity and struggle of tying to be free of one another but also not really wanting to be.
